‘BACH!’ is an encounter between two instruments for which Johann Sebastian Bach's compositions are invaluable: the cello and the organ. The two instruments enter into dialogue with each other. Organ chorales will be played in an arrangement for cello and organ, movements from the sonatas for gamba and clavichord, movements from the solo suites for cello and preludes, fugues and a fantasia for solo organ. The story that emerges from these works showcases human beings in all their vulnerability. With different moods recognisable to every listener.

CELLO AND ORGAN DUO
Organist Simon Bouma and cellist/theatre maker Judith Oost have formed a duo since 2018. As organist and ‘organist's daughter’, they aim to showcase the rare combination of cello and organ and bring attention to the organ in a refreshing way!

BACH! is part of the tour: O CIELO/BACH!-2025. Two different concert programmes will be played in Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and North Holland.
