Liberation Day in Fries Museum
Monday 5 May
You can also celebrate 80 years of freedom by visiting the exhibition IMPACT – The Air War in Friesland, 1940-1945 in the Fries Museum.
Of course you celebrate Liberation Day on May 5 in the city, with conviviality, live music and drinks. But you also celebrate 80 years of freedom with a visit to the exhibition IMPACT - The Air War in Friesland, 1940-1945 in the Fries Museum. In IMPACT, visitors get a penetrating look at the consequences of the air war in Friesland during the Second World War. With a focus on intimate stories and personal objects, the exhibition takes the visitor into the experiences of pilots, civilians, salvage workers and relatives.
