Twadde thús. Evacuees and their Frisian host families
until 30 September
In the context of '80 years of liberation', Tresoar is organizing an exhibition about evacuees and their Frisian host families during the Second World War.
In the context of '80 years of liberation', Tresoar is organising an exhibition about evacuees and their Frisian host families during the Second World War. Which family opened their doors to an evacuee or refugee? Who fled their home and found another 'home' in Friesland? Who was evacuated to the north?
The focus is on stories that were submitted from all over the Netherlands in response to an appeal in September 2024. Using personal objects, letters, photos and film material, you will get to know nine families who found refuge in Friesland. Additional information about the evacuations during the Second World War - why did people have to evacuate? Who was evacuated? - gives you more insight into these lesser-known events from the Second World War.
Twadde Thús can be seen at Tresoar from 22 March 2025. More information will follow soon. Stay informed via our website.
