About Tineke Ceelen
Tineke Ceelen (1963) has been the director of Stichting Vluchteling for more than twenty years. Since 1993, she has been committed to humanitarian aid. In 2020, she was rewarded for this with a medal and the appointment as Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. By regularly talking about individual refugees in the media, she gives this group a voice. To see with her own eyes what the situation is like in countries that are not rich and stable, Ceelen regularly travels to the crisis areas where Stichting Vluchteling provides aid. In her Freedom Lecture, Tineke discusses the freedom that fleeing people lose, the violence they encounter and what it means that no one wants them.
