Team Leeuwarden City Walks

Guided tour

yearly

City walk led by an experienced guide through the oldest part of Leeuwarden, the former court city. Duration is approximately 1½ hours. Cost: €35 per group (2–12 people).

With a guide from Team Leeuwarden Stadswandelingen, you’ll explore the oldest part of our royal city. The guide draws your attention to beautiful façades and special locations, sharing the stories behind them. You’ll stroll through the Netherlands’ cosiest shopping street, pass the tile tableau by Marijke Meu (Princess of Europe), her former home and workplace, 'climb' historic terps to reach the city’s highest point, wander through beautiful inner gardens and past remarkable trees. You’ll also see where Mata Hari once lived and the birthplace of Maurits Escher — and much more. Far too much to list here!

The walk covers approximately 1.2 km and lasts around 1½ hours.

This city walk can be booked at any time, on any day of the week.
Reservations can be made via our website or last-minute by phone.
