Marina De Boarnstream is a unique marina located in the middle of the Frisian lake district on the Boorne river, directly on the Princess Margriet canal. This beautiful location is also a perfect base to, for example, the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. The marina is quiet, spacious, comfortable and modern. There is a lot of greenery, there are play areas for children, such as swings and climbing equipment and a real animal meadow with chickens, rabbits and goats. There are picnic options and a jeu de boules court on site. You can also use a beautiful new toilet building with launderette. Luxurious tiling, spacious showers and underfloor heating are just a few of the features that immediately catch the eye. You can use all these facilities by means of a so-called sep-key: a key that gives you direct access to all necessities. Searching for change or getting coins is a thing of the past here. We are proud to have been awarded De Blauwe Vlag (the Blue Flag). De Blauwe Vlag is an international environmental award issued by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education). De Blauwe Vlag is awarded annually to beaches and marinas that participate in the campaign and have demonstrated that they are clean and safe. The aim of the "Blauwe Vlag Campagne" (campaign) is to permanently involve governments, entrepreneurs and holidaymakers in the care of clean and safe water, beautiful nature and a healthy environment. Being allowed to carry a Blue Flag is a recognition of the efforts that the beach municipality or marina manager has made in this area. For the tourist, the Blue Flag is the recognition and quality symbol for good beaches and marinas. Quality requirements for ports apply: - Water and quays are clean - Sufficient toilet facilities are available - There is a separate waste collection system, preferably also for bilge water and waste water - Discharges of waste water from boats and port facilities into the water of the port are prohibited - Rescue and extinguishing materials are available - There are port regulations with codes of conduct for visitors - Information on how to deal with nature and the environment is available. Because we meet all these requirements, we can once again fly the Blue Flag this year.
