Herberg Oer 't Hout
Group accommodation in the heart of the Frisian lakes, in the pretty village of Grou. The village has a number of terraces, shops, and eateries. We are easily accessible via boat, car, or by public transport, and we can accommodate more than 150 people!
Herberg Oer ’t Hout is located right in the center of water sports village Grou. Since 1955, Oer 't Hout has accommodated large groups (up to 190 people), but also families, hikers and cyclists who set out to discover De Alde Feanen National Park. Traditionally, Oer 't Hout focused on all facets of water sports. Today, water sports activities are still possible.
The accommodation is located in a unique place in Friesland. At the rear of the building is a sunny terrace on the water. This water is directly connected to the Pikmeer. You can easily discover the De Alde Feanen National Park from Oer 't Hout by canoe, SUP board or other floating means of transport. Who knows, you might even run into the otter, or hear the lure of a bittern!

Oer 't Hout is located on the village square of Grou. Within walking distance (just a few tens of metres) you will find cosy eateries, shops and sights.
The name Oer 't Hout comes from the old inn. To get here one had to walk over a small wooden bridge. In Grou this was called 't Hout. The bridge is no longer there, but the name has always remained.
At Herberg Oer 't Hout you can count on simple but comfortably furnished rooms with private bathrooms for an affordable price. Many of the rooms have a view of the water or the village square. An extensive and tasty breakfast is included in the price as standard.
At the end of the day, take a seat at the cosy bar or by the fireplace, where you can share your experiences with each other after a long day full of surprising activities in the beautiful Frisian lake area.
