Mondays in Leeuwarden

| Annemarie Seunnenga

Leeuwarden is a vibrant city with many cozy cafés, hard-working entrepreneurs, impressive museums, and a bustling agenda full of theater, music, and comedy. Even so, these entrepreneurs, musicians, and hospitality professionals occasionally need a day to relax, and that often happens to be on a Monday. Fortunately, there are still plenty of fun things to do! Are you ready for a relaxing day in Leeuwarden?

10:00 o'clock - Breakfast

Start your day off in a relaxed way while a delicious breakfast is prepared for you. Your only task? Deciding! Coffee or mint tea, freshly squeezed juice or a smoothie, a tasty bagel or sunny side up eggs; what will you choose?

12:00 o'clock - action!

With a full stomach after a great breakfast, it’s time for action! Luckily, there are still plenty of things to do on a Monday in Leeuwarden, for both young and old, and everyone in between.

11Fountains

If you've ever taken the train to Leeuwarden, you've undoubtedly seen them: the serenely smiling faces of the LOVE Fountain. In celebration of Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, the year Leeuwarden was the European Capital of Culture, each of Friesland’s eleven cities got its own fountain. A walking route has been created around each fountain, guiding you past all the city’s highlights. In Leeuwarden, visit the ‘Love’ fountain by Jaume Plensa and be surprised during your walk.
