‘VOLGENDE X’ is an award-winning, hilarious and moving solo. It was written in 1993 by Ron Aldridge and is being performed in a fresh and up-to-date adaptation by Nico Meurs. The show has a very attractive and accessible theatrical form: serious theatre and cabaret-like elements alternate, without compromising its intriguing content. The play has a number of baffling plot-twists that keep the audience on the edge of their seats. And despite the gripping subject matter, there is plenty to laugh at and enjoy. In short: a play that strikes a chord with a wide and diverse audience!
The result is a tragi-comic solo of over an hour, full of humour, speed and emotion. ‘VOLGENDE X’ is oppressive, but also funny and above all, deeply human.
