De Prinsentuin The green heart
The green heart of Leeuwarden offers an oasis of tranquility for residents and visitors alike. The park was created by Prince Frederik of Nassau as a tribute to the Eighty Years' War. Although the park was closed to the public for nearly 150 years, Willem I decided to gift the park to the people of Leeuwarden. It’s something we are still grateful for to this day. Thank you, Willem!
