Many stories - History
Bolsward is certainly historical. The Town Hall is full of stories. This has been converted into Cultural Historical Centre de Tiid where you can admire a permanent exhibition, as well. Fryske Be(e)renburg - ancient family recipe
Berenburg and Bolsward are inextricably linked. In Friesland, there are eight producers who produce this herbal drink: each and every one according to their own secret family recipe. The best-known producer of the world-famous drink in Friesland is Sonnema. And lo and behold... Sonnema is now based in Bolsward! Of course, you can order the drink anywhere in Friesland, but at the visitor centreyou will find the history and origins of the drink. You will be taken to the herb loft and the bottling plant. And, don't miss out on the tasting at the end, of course!
Green national monuments - in the city
Greenery is also certainly plentiful. A green oasis in the middle of the city with lots of greenery, ponds, and a rose garden. Check the calendar in advance, as various events are also organised here on a regular basis.
From the water - Bolsward
A city always looks different from the water; perhaps even more beautiful. You can discover the city on your own by renting a boat or SUP. Or hop on a canal cruise and let yourself be taken through the city accompanied by its stories.
