11:00 AM - culture

Time for culture. Discover the exhibition "Yes, I Do!" at the Fries Museum. This major exhibition showcases wedding dresses from the past 250 years, featuring both historical and contemporary gowns. From the 18th century to the present, it explores the essence of the wedding dress. What traditions has the dress been subject to? Where does the ‘white’ wedding dress, as we know it today, come from? And what does the dress say about the wearer?

Continue your adventure through Leeuwarden with fresh, revitalizing energy. The Kleine Kerkstraat is one of the nicest shopping streets in Leeuwarden, filled with boutiques, design shops, and the tastiest local products. Not into shopping? Take a short walk to the Oldehoofsterkerkhof. Here stands our leaning tower: the Oldehove. From April to September, you can climb it and enjoy the stunning view from the top, but you haven't truly experienced Leeuwarden until you've taken a photo with it—leaning, of course, just like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Interested in a city walk, a tour, or that hidden little restaurant you might not stumble upon? At the foot of the Oldehove, you’ll find the Visitor Center, the physical reception point for all tourists where we provide up-to-date tourist information.

17:00 PM - wine o'clock

So. After all the adventures and the necessary kilometers through the city center of Leeuwarden, it’s time for a drink. Tucked away among towering street art and behind the pop venue Neushoorn, you’ll find wine bar Vino&Verder. This is the kind of wine bar you hope to stumble upon when you’re lost in an unfamiliar city. Here, excellent service and good wines go hand in hand. A must-visit for true wine lovers. But even the less passionate wine fans will find something to enjoy here.
