Even though the temperatures are still lovely and the days are (thankfully!) still sunny, here and there the first leaves are already starting to fall from the trees. In the evening, there is a fresh breeze and the evenings are becoming longer again. Autumn is on its way and with it, the cultural season is taking off! Pull out those hats and scarves, have a cup of hot chocolate to warm your hands and be surprised by a Brilliant Autumn.

Luminous Fall

Autumn is perhaps the nicest season in Leeuwarden. So, it is not for nothing that we have renamed autumn a brilliant autumn. With a calendar of events filled to the brim, we are looking forward to a fantastic autumn with events ranging from grand national premieres to the most intimate and fun activities.

warm terraces - Nice!

Fortunately, autumn lends itself perfectly to taking a break on a terrace. Feel the golden autumn sun on your face and warm your hands with a nice cup of soup, chocolate milk or tea, or enjoy a nice herbal bitter. Are you shivering? Then find a heated terrace! How about Fellini, for instance, which has self-heating cushions on its chairs?

Go outside!

If there is one thing that makes a person happy, it is a brisk walk among copper-coloured trees. Getting some fresh air, enjoying all the beauty that can be seen in nature, looking for chestnuts and bird-watching are closer than you think. In no time you can walk through the most beautiful city parks, such as the Prinsentuin, the Vossenpark and the Rengerspark. Would you like to walk a little longer? Then you wil find Buuten on the outskirts of Leeuwarden! You can wander around this large area for hours, and you can bring your dog along. The Leeuwarder Bos and the Froskepolle are also beautiful during the autumn. There is a lot to choose from!

  • Silent Book Club

What could be better than curling up in your armchair with a cup of tea, a blanket and a good book? Exactly, doing that at the same time as others! That is why Tresoar has organized the Silent Book Club every first Thursday of the month. All you have to do is bring a good book. Which book is at the top of your list?
