Explore the North 2023
From modern smartlap to horror hip-hop, and from literary dance moves to disruptive dance floor energy: from 24 to 26 November, you will be introduced to art in unexpected forms during Festival Explore the North. With beautiful churches, raucous cellars and other venues, Leeuwarden's historic city centre will frame a walking tour full of concerts, literary performances, dance performances and much more. The programme includes Sophie Straat, Nynke Laverman with Plant Boom Sessions, BOYBAND (The Literary Boyband) with De Slimste Mens winner Martin Rombouts, Mega Bog and Kleine Crack & Slagter. At Explore the North, poetry turns into a pop concert and vice versa. Innovative sound artists stand alongside young writers and international spoken-word artists share the stage with local word artists.
