Oldehove Glow-up: Color the largest coloring page in Europe
The Oldehove is covered in scaffolding, so why not make something beautiful out of it right away? From October 9 to 24, the 660-square-meter coloring page on the tower will be colored in with light night after night. And the best part: you get to join in!
A coloring page of 660 square meters. Perhaps the largest in Europe. Naturally, you don't just color that in at the kitchen table. That is why the Oldehove will be colored in with light every evening from October 9 to 24, starting half an hour after sunset. Kroft&Smids is providing the lighting installation that will make all the colorful creations appear meters high on the tower.
The pupils of Openbare Jenaplan basisschool Oldenije have the honor of kicking things off. They have had a special bond with our leaning tower for years and will open the project together with Alderman for Culture Marcel Visser. Their creations can be admired at the Oldehove from October 9 to 18.
Now it's your turn
From then on, the Oldehove belongs to everyone. Pick up a coloring page at Visit Leeuwarden in Obe and make whatever you want of it. Flowers, diamonds, stained glass, a complete jungle, or something only you understand what it's supposed to represent — anything goes. Age? We don't do that. Everyone can join in.
Return your artwork to us by October 14 at the latest. From October 19 to 23, the submitted coloring pages will be projected onto the Oldehove, so our leaning tower will look just a little bit different every evening.
And on October 24 , you won't even have to wait any longer. During the closing evening, you can get to work on your coloring page live at the Oldehove, and your creation will be projected onto the tower that very same evening. Hooray, from coloring page to meters-high work of art.
So: get the colored pencils out of the drawer and go. The Oldehove could use some color.
