REDBAD: the legendary king

Once, in the distant past, a legendary king reigned over the great Frisia. His name was Redbad, the greatest king these regions have ever known. More than a thousand years after his death, the Fries Museum sheds new light on the mighty North Sea king with an epic exhibition.

Who was Redbad really? An invincible warrior, a feared pagan, or simply a king who refused to bow down? And how vast was his kingdom of United Frisia truly? Come face-to-face with impressive treasures and archaeological masterpieces, such as the world-famous Odin of Lejre, and dive into the world of this mysterious Frisian king through compelling stories and breathtaking, atmospheric design. Do you dare to take your place on Redbad's throne?

There is something for everyone, young and old, to experience: children can join in the search for who Redbad was at their own level, and there is plenty to see for those who want to delve just a little deeper into history. You shouldn't miss this exhibition!

The entire Fries Museum is bursting with the Middle Ages this autumn. There are regular lectures, workshops, and events.
